The Angel of Monteverde or Angel of Resurrection (the masterpiece of the resurrection of Angelo di Monteverde and Angelo della in Italy) is a masterpiece of neo-classical religious sculpture, created by Italian artist Giulio Monteverde in 1882 Made on marble.
The statue in 1882 guards the Tomb of the Oneto family at the Staglieno Cemetery in Genoa, northern Italy. It is one of the most famous works of neoclassical Italian sculptor Giulio Monteverde. It was commissioned by Francesco Oneto, president of Banca Generale, to commemorate his deceased family member.
It depicts a contemplative angel with long and rich wings and is recognized as one of the most beautiful and sensual sculptures in the category. Monteverde contributed other important neoclassical works.
