The death of Adonis story.
One spring, Adonis returned from the underworld as scheduled to live with Aphrodite. In order to make the beautiful boy happy, Aphrodite often dressed as a huntress and accompanied Adonis to hunt in the woods. But one day, she happened to fail to stay by Adonis’s side and let him chase after him—a wild boar.
The hunting Adonis seized the opportunity and threw a spear at the wild boar, but only severely injured it. The wild boar, angry with pain, rushed to Adonis and stabbed him to death.
