Metropolitan Museum Resting Marble Cleopatra Statue By William Wetmore Story
Cleopatra is a 19th-century sculpture by American sculptor William Wetmore Story. Carved from marble, the sculpture depicts the Egyptian ruler Cleopatra. The sculpture is currently in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The size of the marble sculpture is 141 x 84.5 x 130.8 cm. The head shows the names, or royal headdress, complete with the Uraeus, which royal rulers wore. Note her snake bracelet was often worn by Egyptian women, as a Roman-era mummy mask illustrates
Cleopatra rested quietly on the chair, gorgeous costumes, full of nobility. The white marble carved figures are vivid. It’s really a great piece of art! Our factory can customize any Western figure sculpture. We look forward to your inquiry!
