Famous Design Sleeping Barberini Faun Sculpture

The life-size marble statues are called Barberini Faun, Fauno Barberini, or Drunken Satyr and are located in Glyptothek in Munich, Germany. The original statue was found in the ditch of Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome in 1624.

Faun was the Greek satyr of the Romans. In Greek mythology, satyrs are human-like male woodland elves with a variety of animal characteristics, usually goat-like tails, hooves, ears, or horns. Sardis participated in Dionysus.
